Lidia Lam Obituary

Lidia Lam, 91, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Genesis Health Care in Matawan.  Lidia was born on March 27, 1929 in Cuba, where she was raised.  In the 1940's, she immigrated to the United States, where she met her beloved husband, Chung "Steven" Lam.  After marriage, Lidia and Steven lived in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York, where they began raising their family, before settling in Staten Island where they lived for over 30 years.  Just three years ago, Lidia moved to Perth Amboy, New Jersey to be closer to her family.  Before her retirement, Lidia worked as a clerk for New York State Department of Labor.  She loved visiting casinos and was an avid shopper.  She especially enjoyed network television shopping, QVC being one of her favorites.  Most of all, Lidia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rosario Aji Madan and Francisco Chang, and her beloved husband, Chung "Steven" Lam.  Lidia is survived by her loving children, Diana Maria Parisio and her husband, Charles, of South Amboy, New Jersey, and Danny Lam and his wife, Peggy Ann, of Kinnelon, New Jersey, her cherished grandchildren, Leah Gomez, Craig Lam, Richard Parisio, Dylan Lam, and Breanna Lam, and her adored great grandchildren, Savannah Gomez, Jason Gomez, Justin Parisio, and Olivia Parisio.  Lidia will be sadly missed and never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Lidia's wishes, she will be privately cremated.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph - St. Thomas Parish, 6097 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York 10309.  Interment of Lidia's cremated remains will immediately follow at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, New York 10306.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
