Laura Ann Murray, 67, of Union Beach, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 11, 2026, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey.
Laura was born on December 20, 1958, in Roxbury (Queens), New York, where she was raised and met her beloved husband, Joseph. On September 11, 1982, Laura and Joseph were married and began their life together in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. Their marriage was a source of deep love and devotion, and the life they built together became the heart of Laura’s world. In 1999, they settled in Union Beach, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family and create a loving family home.
Laura was most proud of being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and it was her greatest joy in life. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family and found happiness in the everyday moments that made life meaningful. Her love was steady and generous, and she was known for the gentle way she made others feel cared for and welcomed.
Laura enjoyed spending time at the beach, where she found peace and happiness by the water. She was an animal lover, and her affection for animals reflected the tenderness of her heart. She also loved to cook, garden, and draw, and she had a natural knack for interior design. Her home was often a reflection of her creativity and care, and she took pride in making her surroundings warm and inviting.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Laura (Griffin) Stelz, her beloved husband of 44 years, Joseph J. Murray, and her dear siblings, William Stelz and Elizabeth Gorney. She is survived by her loving children, Jessica Buck and her husband Ernest, Ryan Murray, Megan Murray and her fiancé Patrick Lenti, and John Thomas Murray III and his wife Manuela Toro. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Emily, and Declan, who brought her great pride and happiness. In addition, she is survived by her treasured sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John Thomas Murray Jr. and his wife Terri, Kathleen Murray and her partner Steve Calabro, Kevin Murray and his wife Terry, and Margaret Marullo and her husband Salvatore.
Laura’s memory will be cherished always by her family and friends, who will hold close the many beautiful moments they shared with her. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Laura to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) and/or Tunnel to Towers (www.t2t.org) would be greatly appreciated.
