Laura Joan Hurni, 52, of Hazlet, New Jersey passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey. It is with profound sadness that Laura’s family announce the passing of their beloved Laura. Laura fought a relentless illness so hard and she did it with optimism, kindness and never said why me? But God knew she had grown frail and it was time to call her home. Laura lived an extraordinary life never missing an opportunity to explore this beautiful world. She had many passions besides travel, her beautiful garden with all of her orchids, art and making sure every animal was well taken care of. We loved her so much and are going to miss her greatly. She was born in Queens, New York on January 13, 1972, to her loving parents, Andrew and Patricia (Johnston) Hurni. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Hazlet, New Jersey in 1977. Laura worked as an IT specialist for Uncommon Goods in Brooklyn, New York.
Laura was predeceased by her caring brother, Mark John Hurni. She is survived by her beloved parents, Andrew and Patricia (Johnston) Hurni, her loving siblings, Drew Hurni and his wife Monica of Marlboro, New Jersey, David Hurni of Hazlet, New Jersey and Jennifer Hurni of Hazlet, New Jersey and her cherished nieces and nephews, Katelyn Kinneman, Kayla Gomez, Andrea Rigoglioso, Alyssa Guise, Elizabeth Hurni, Emily Hurni, Christopher Hurni, Mark Hurni, and Brooke Hurni, and all her wonderful friends that became family to Laura.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
