Kien Du

Kien Du, 88, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Thursday, May 4, 2023.  Kien was born on November 18, 1934, in Soc Trang, Viet Nam.  He grew up in Viet Nam, where he met his beloved wife, Helen.  Kien and Helen were married on June 26, 1964, and began their life together and settled in Saigon, Viet Nam to raise their family.  In 1980, they immigrated to the United States and in 2000, settled in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Before Kien’s retirement in 1996, he worked for Oppenheimer & Co. in New York, New York, as a Clerk/Accountant.  Above all else, Kien was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Au Sinh Ta and Thi Huong Du.  Kien is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 58 years, Helen (Tran) Du, his loving children, Trinh Du and his wife, Elaine, of Hong Kong, China, Tu Du and his wife, Natalie, of Boulder, Colorado, Doantrang Du-Nivera and her husband, Noel, of Holmdel, New Jersey, Thutrang Du-Kirschner and her husband, Joseph, of Westfield, New Jersey, and Muc Du and his wife, Kyoko, of Bronx, New York, along with his cherished grandchildren, Marcus Du, Alex Du, Keana Du, Kaden Du, Christopher Nivera, Grace Nivera, Emily Kirschner, and Sara Kirschner.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Kien’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited to attend a committal service for the entombment of Kien’s cremated remains on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 11:00 to 11:30 AM at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
