Kathleen (Murray) Ackerson

Kathleen Ackerson, 70, of Laurence Harbor, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. She was born Kathleen Mariah Murray on July 17, 1952, in Teaneck, New Jersey.  Kathleen spent time living in Bergenfield, New Jersey, before settling in Hazlet with her parents and siblings. She raised her family in Laurence Harbor, NJ. She was presently residing in Laurence Harbor. Before her retirement, Kathleen worked as a nursing aide for many years.  As a child, Kathleen traveled to Ireland, which was a memory she often shared with her family and cherished throughout her life.  Most of all, Kathleen was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many.  She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Margaret (Hoffman) Murray, her niece, Trisha Lynn Bumbico, and her dear friends, Abby Napolitano, and Janet Barnes.  Kathleen is survived by her beloved sons, Kevin Ackerson, and Thomas Wolfe and his wife, Jennifer, her dear siblings, Patricia Murphy and her husband, Tom, Donna Bumbico and her husband, Anthony, and TJ Murray and his wife, Donna, her grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Mason, and McKenzie, and her cherished friend, Paula Barnes, along with many more extended family members and friends.

In respect of Kathleen’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during the visitation hours.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com
