Karen Blaney, 63, of Marlboro, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2020 at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. Karen was born on November 24, 1956 in Kearny, New Jersey and was raised most of her life in Hazlet. Later in life, Karen moved to the Florida Keys, where she remained for many years before returning to New Jersey in 2018. Before retirement, Karen worked in the Medical Billing Field at Keys Medical Billing. Karen loved spending time with her family and friends, being by the beach and water, making jewelry and going to craft shows. Above all else, Karen was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her cherished grandchildren, Michael and Mia, were the light of her life.
Karen is survived by her adoring mother, Joette Ecker and her husband, Gary of Lake Placid, FL, her beloved father, James Blaney of Islamorada, FL, her loving daughter, Kimberly Salino and her husband, Mike of Marlboro, NJ and her cherished grandchildren, Michael and Mia. Karen is also survived by her dear brothers, Jimmy Blaney and his former spouse, Ann Marie, and Jeff Blaney and his wife, Janine, along with her treasured nieces, Taylor, Jordyn, and Julia. Karen will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
In respect of Karen’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 50 persons allowed in the funeral home at one time.
