Joyce Pettinato Murphy, 53 of Middletown passed away on February 9, 2020. Joyce died as she lived, surrounded by her beloved family.
Joyce was born on April 2, 1967 to Joe and Joan Pettinato in Red Bank, NJ and brought joy and laughter into the world of her parents and 6 siblings. Joyce embraced her position as the baby of the family and used her well-honed survivor skills to climb her way to Cheer Captain and class president of Raritan High School class of ’85. Joyce went on to graduate from Montclair State University, began her professional career as a human resources representative for Chanel in Piscataway, NJ, and later found her dream job working at the Middletown Township Public Library.
Joyce and her husband Kevin started their lives together as friends in high school and lived a true love story for more than two decades. Joyce and Kevin established their home in Middletown, NJ and it was in that home that Joyce lived out her dream of raising their three children, Kyle, Sarah and Shane.
Joyce was a fiercely dedicated mom and whether it was from the crowd at the Stone Pony or the sidelines at Middletown South, you would find Joyce cheering on Kyle, Sarah and Shane as they pursued their dreams.
Family came first and was above all else to Joyce, a value she instilled in all those around her.
Joyce was predeceased by her father, Joseph, her mother, Joan, her brother Joseph and her sister Ellen.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin, and her three children, Kyle, Sarah and Shane. Also surviving are her siblings, Debbie Puccio, Maryann Scotti, Lori Lear and Robert Pettinato and brother-in-law Ben as well as all their spouses who adored her as their own.
