Joyce M. Chadwick, 72, of Aberdeen, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was born Joyce M. Mansi on September 20, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. In 1980, she settled in Aberdeen, New Jersey. On September 1, 1991, Joyce and her husband, John, were married and began their lives together in Aberdeen. While living in Aberdeen, Joyce developed an interest in horses: she owned, rode and competed winning accolades along the way. Joyce completed marathons including the NYC Road Runners’ Marathon. Never one to remain idle, she became a devoted gardener creating magic at her Aberdeen home. Calligraphy and pottery were interests as well. A long-hidden passion for photography finally emerged leading her to study at the International Center for Photography in Manhattan where she honed her skills in composition, darkroom techniques and digital technology. Joyce’s work has been exhibited here and abroad.
A retrospective of Joyce’s work is planned.
She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Frances (Sorrentino) Mansi. Joyce is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 29 years, John W. Chadwick, and her dear sister, Valerie Mansi and her lifelong partner, Tedder Waddell. Joyce will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
