Joseph F. O’Brien, 89, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Joseph was born on June 22, 1935, in Jersey City, New Jersey and proudly served in the Army. He married the love of his life in 1958 and settled in Secaucus to raise their family in 1965. Joseph was the owner of Premiere Limousine Service for over 20 years before retiring in 2005, moving to Middletown in 2006 to be closer to his granddaughter. Joseph was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Joseph had an infectious love of life and a unique gift to make everyone he met feel special. He was passionate about volunteering and spent many years at Meadowlands Hospital before joining the Middletown Senior Center where he was not only an active member but honored for his years of volunteering, service and dedication to the Meals on Wheels program.
He enjoyed New York with an appreciation for Broadway, NY Yankees and tailgating at NY Giants games. He vacationed often with his family going on several cruises and always up for a trip to Las Vegas or any casino related destination.
He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Helen (Lynch) O’Brien, his beloved wife, Joan (Hemmerly) O’Brien, and his dear siblings, Mary, Martin, Robert, Donald, and Richard.
