Joseph Lamb Sr., 71, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Joseph was born on June 16, 1952, in Long Branch, New Jersey, and grew up in Hazlet, New Jersey. Joseph and his beloved wife, Ellen, fondly known as “Sue”, met, and started dating on a blind date set up by friends on his birthday, and the rest was history. They were married on September 9, 1978, and began their life and family together in Hazlet. Joseph was an integral part of the Hazlet community. For over 40 years, he worked for Hazlet Township, retiring as the Assistant Superintendent for the Department of Public Works. Joseph also served as fire commissioner for eight years and served on the Hazlet Township Board of Education for over 20 years. Joseph was a staunch Republican and a proud Trump supporter. He was also a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers. Above all else, Joseph was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Lamb Sr. and Bertha (Cole) Lamb. Joseph is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 45 years, Ellen “Sue” Lamb, his loving children, Joseph Howard Lamb and his wife, Bonnie McKittrick, of Keansburg, and Kara Paige Lamb of Hazlet, his dear siblings, Louis Lamb and Bette Nowack, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pamela and Kenneth McGowan, and his cherished grandchildren, Dayani McKittrick, Daryonah McKittrick, Davyon McKittrick, Gia Ann Lamb, and Joseph Phil Lamb, along with many treasured nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, and his four-legged friend, his dog, Kiley Marie.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
