John Robert Adams

John Robert Adams, fondly known as "Robert", 83, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.  Robert was born on February 14, 1938 in Plainview, Texas and grew up in Lubbock, Texas, where he married his childhood sweetheart and life-long friend Jane Grant Adams. On July 31, 1992, Robert and his wife, Pamela, were married and began their life together.  In 2007, they settled in Middletown, New Jersey.  Before his retirement in 2003, Robert was the Caleb T. Winchester Librarian at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut for many years.  Most of all, Robert was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Mary (Caddell) Adams.  Robert is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 29 years, Pamela (Healey) Adams, his loving children, Susan Adams and her husband, Bryan Deuitch, of Princeton, New Jersey, Anne Stevens and her husband, Todd Threlkeld, of Seattle, Washington, and Deana Stevens and her husband, Craig Callan, of Highland Park, New Jersey, along with his cherished grandchildren, Annika Adams Baldwin, Luke and Julia Callan.  

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of his family's wishes, Robert's services will be held privately.  He will be laid to rest at Bay View Cemetery in Leonardo, New Jersey.  In lieu of of flowers, donations in loving memory of Robert to The Sierra Club, www.sierraclub.org, or a charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.  For information or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
