John Wesley Wheeler II, 78, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, New Jersey. John was born on May 22, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, where he was raised. It was in Brooklyn that John met the love of his life, Carol Wheeler. They were introduced by Carol’s best friend Barbara and after a few dates, the rest was history. They sealed their fate and married on June 7th, 1986. Along with their sons, they moved to Middletown, New Jersey in 1994, where they remained. John joined the Marine Corp and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.
Before retiring, John put much effort into his career as an electrician, working many dedicated years for Stanco System, Brooklyn, New York. John will be lovingly remembered for being a “Strong-willed and hardworking man”. As a great outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting. His favorite hunting partner was his best friend, Michael. Alongside loving the outdoors, he was a great car and motorcycle enthusiast. He loved painting and working on older cars.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, John Wesley and Jeanette (Ellis) Wheeler. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 39 years, Carol (Principe) Wheeler, his cherished sons, Joseph Wheeler and his wife Makayla of Hazlet, New Jersey and John Wheeler and his wife Shaina of Middletown, New Jersey, his adored grandchildren, Reese and Joseph Wheeler and a sister, Patricia Shredos. John was a devoted, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 28th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
