John W O'Shea Sr.

John W. O'Shea Sr. passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in Allenwood, New Jersey. Born on April 23, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

John was predeceased by his parents William and Mary (Rea) O'Shea. He married the love of his life, Bernice, on January 9, 1965. Together they built a life filled with joy and purpose until her passing in August of 2019. Sadly, John was also predeceased by his treasured son, John W. O'Shea Jr.

John is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Grisley, and her husband, Ron, his caring daughter-in-law, Janine O'Shea, and his cherished grandchildren, Michael Grisley and his wife Nicolette, Matthew Grisley, Jordyn O'Shea, Justin O'Shea and his adored great-granddaughter, Olivia Grisley. He is also survived by many extended family members and special friends.

After marrying, John and Bernice moved to Matawan, New Jersey, in 1965, and then settled in Cliffwood Beach in 1968, where they remained until John relocated to Allenwood in 2025. His professional life was marked by his exceptional talent and dedication as a carpenter. John was the proud owner of John O'Shea Custom Stairs and Rails, where his craftmanship was evident in every project he undertook.

John was a man who loved his family and treasured spending time with them. He enjoyed boating, fishing and the satisfaction of creating beautiful woodwork.

He was the kind of person who would make everyone feel loved. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 AM on Monday, March 30th, 2026, at Saint Joseph R.C. Church, of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 376 Maple Place, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.
