John V. Minervini, 85, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. John was born on February 28, 1935 in Bari, Italy and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1938, starting their life in Hoboken, New Jersey. On February 7, 1959, John and his beloved wife, Marie, were married and began their lives together. In 1967, they moved to East Rutherford, where they lived for a few years before settling in Hazlet to raise their family in 1971. John was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served our country during the Korean Conflict. Before his retirement, John worked as a salesman for a trucking and logistics company for many years. Most of all, John was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stefano and Elizabeth (Pasculli) Minervini, and his sister, Lena Cappelluti. John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 61 years, Marie J. (Bergantino) Minervini, his loving children, Steven Minervini and his wife, Kimberly, of Cumming, Georgia, Angela Denton and her husband, Matthew, of Old Bridge, John Minervini Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Middletown, and Michael Minervini of Sayreville, his dear sister, Mary Petruzella, and his cherished grandchildren, George Emslie, Michael Emslie, John Minervini III, Erin, Anthony, and Daniel Minervini. John will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
