John Joseph Iside

John Joseph Iside, 76, of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 24, 2021.  John was born on June 6, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up and met his beloved wife, Theresa.  John and Theresa were married on April 13, 1969 in Brooklyn, where they started their lives together and remained to raise their family.  In 2002, John and Theresa retired to Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.  Before his retirement, John worked as a Gas Turbine Mechanic for Con Edison for many years.  He was also a proud United States Navy Veteran, having served our country from 1962 to 1965.  Most of all, John was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather.  John adored his family and friends.  He was always generous, willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, was a great listener and an all-around great guy.  He loved the ponnies, the Doo Wops, and in his spare time enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and playing golf.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his family, and will never be forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, John Frank and Stella (Antioco) Iside.  John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years, Theresa (Carbonaro) Iside, his loving children, Laura Morreale and her husband, Edward, of Staten Island, New York, John and his wife, Misti, of Mays Landing, New Jersey, and Francine Iside of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and his dear sisters, Maryann Romolo and Joan Kesicki.  John also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Michael Iside, Christopher Schretzmann, Gianna Morreale, Joseph Morreale, JD, Julianna Schretzmann, Alyssa, Nicholas Morreale, and Marc.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Hazlet, New Jersey.  In respect of John’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Godfrey Funeral Home, 4008 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Twp., New Jersey 08234.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during the visitation hours.  John’s cremated remains will be laid to rest on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Brigadier General William C.
