John Frank Dente Jr.

John Frank Dente Jr., 86, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Bayshore Medical Center.  John was born on March 8, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up.  John lived in Newark until 1975, when he settled in Holmdel, New Jersey.

John received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. John's University in Queens, New York.  After receiving his degree, he began his career as a Pharmacist.  Many years later, John and his brothers started Dente Brothers Towing in Newark, New Jersey.  He was presently retired.  John was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.

He was predeceased by his parents, Helen (Forlenza) and John Frank Dente, his brother, Carmine Dente, and his brothers-in-law, Anthony Manochio and Jerry Gallicchio.  John is survived by his loving siblings, Aurora Manochio of Union, Anthony Dente and his wife, Tania, of Mountainside, and Joanne Gallicchio of Holmdel, his sister-in-law, Georgine Dente of Holmdel, and many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, a treasured goddaughter, extended family members and friends.

John enjoyed visiting Palm Beach, Florida.  He especially loved spending time at The Breakers, and a few years ago, purchased his second home in Palm Beach, where he often spent his winters.  John also loved golfing in his spare time, whether home in New Jersey or while visiting Palm Beach.  Above all else, John was a loving brother, uncle, great uncle, great-great uncle, and friend to many.  He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home at approximately 3:30 PM.  In respect of John's wishes, he will privately cremated.
