Joan Gubelman Obituary

Joan Gubelman, a person of laughter and love, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at Anchor Care, in Hazlet, New Jersey, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and care. Born on April 4, 1965, in the city of Manhattan, NY.  Although she was born in Manhattan, Joan was a proud and lifelong resident of Union Beach, New Jersey.

Predeceased by her beloved parents, Edward and Eileen (McLoughlin) Gubelman, Joan's memory will be held in the hearts of those she loved most dearly. She is survived by her loving children, Brielle Pennington and Brayden Pennington, who were the center of her world. The father of her cherished children, Bill Pennington, stands as a testament to the enduring bond they shared. Joan is also survived by her sisters, Jean and Janet. Nalda, her "Fur" grandchild, will miss the gentle touch of her caring hands. Joan was dedicated to her loving family.  She will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten.

Joan's life was a reflection of her priorities—family, creativity, and community. Joan's passion for nurturing extended beyond her own family, touching the lives of many through her involvement in her children's activities, including several years as a Little League baseball coach. Her laughter and encouragement from the sidelines will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A lover of nature's beauty, Joan found solace and inspiration in her garden. Her hands, skilled in the art of growth, tended to roses and vegetables with equal care, each bloom and harvest a testament to her patience and attention to detail. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where the rhythm of the waves matched the cadence of her heart.

As we bid farewell to Joan Gubelman, we celebrate a life lived with passion, a life that touched so many others with its light. Her laughter, her love, and her creative spark have left an indelible mark on this world. Though she has left us, her spirit will continue to dance in the waves, bloom in the gardens, and shine in the laughter of those who loved her. Joan's story is not one of an ending, but a beautiful reminder of the joy and beauty that one person can bring into the lives of many.

In respect of Joan’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey   07730.  For more information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit www.shorepointfh.com.
