Janice Pembleton Glinsman

Janice Pembleton Glinsman, 93, of Tinton Falls, New Jersey, passed away on July 19, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1933, in Hayes, Kansas, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her home, and the many people whose lives she touched with her loving spirit.

Janice was the daughter of the late Leroy Jack and Helen (Hoch) Pembleton. She was also the beloved identical twin sister of the late Janet Eveleth. She grew up in Teaneck, where she spent her childhood years and formed the foundation of the warm, steady, and caring nature that would define her throughout her life. During the 1970’s, she spent seven years in Brussels, Belgium, an experience that broadened her world and became a meaningful chapter in her life. In 1979, she returned to the Tri-State Area and eventually settled in Tinton Falls, where she made her home and remained rooted in the community she came to love.

Janice earned a master’s degree in psychology, reflecting both her intelligence and her interest in understanding and supporting others. While she was proud of her education, she was equally proud of the life she built at home. She devoted many years to being a homemaker and caring for her children, a role she embraced with patience, strength, and deep affection. She also worked as a substitute teacher in Rockland County, New York, and Bergen County, New Jersey, where she shared her kindness and encouragement with students. In addition, she served as a bookkeeper for a nonprofit organization in Bergen County for several years, contributing her time and talents in service to others.

Family was at the center of Janice’s life. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald Glinsman and the loving mother of Colin Glinsman and Brian Glinsman and his wife, Lisha. She was a proud and caring grandmother to Ian, Patrick, and Andrew Glinsman, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings on holidays, creating a welcoming home filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. Her family will remember her as a constant source of love, comfort, and support.

Janice had many interests that brought joy to her life. She loved singing and was involved with the Shrewsbury Chorale, where she shared her voice and her appreciation for music. She also enjoyed brass rubbing, a creative pastime that reflected her patience and attention to detail. These interests, along with her love of family and home, were part of what made her life so rich and meaningful.

Those who knew Janice will remember her as a loving woman whose presence brought calm, kindness, and grace. She lived with quiet strength and a generous heart, and she leaves behind a legacy of devotion that will continue to be felt by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be cherished always.
