Janet Rose Doran, 91, of Hazlet, New Jersey, slipped away on Friday, March 13, 2026. A beacon of love and kindness, she passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 5, 1934, in Bergenfield, New Jersey, Janet was the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Heines) West.
Janet's early years in Bergenfield were filled with the warmth of her small family. After graduating from high school, Janet took a job at a bank, and there she met and later married Frederick J. Doran. Together, they made their home in Hazlet, New Jersey, where they raised their three daughters.
A true homemaker at heart, Janet dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick J. Doran, on December 31st, 2006. Her legacy lives on through her loving daughters, Cathy Doran and her fiancé, Rob Garratano, Vickie Doran, and Debbie Goldstein. Janet's joy was multiplied with the birth of her three grandchildren. Tyler Goldstein and his wife Michelle, Melanie Guiney and her husband Colby, and Steven Goldstein, who will forever remember their grandmother's gentle spirit and selfless nature.
Janet's interests reflected her loving and creative soul. She found great pleasure in knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting. A source of pride was the many hats she knit and donated to cancer patients. An avid reader, she could often be found with a book in hand, reading mysteries, comedies, and history. Janet loved animals, but none more than her beloved Boston Terrier, Micky.
Janet's unwavering support and boundless love for her family were the cornerstones of her life. She always put others' needs first and asked very little for herself. She will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
