Jane (Ebner) Sodano

Jane Sodano, 92, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Jersey Shore Medical Center. She was born in Newark, New Jersey to the late Frederick Ebner and Catherine Kloss on February 3, 1932. Jane and her husband Louis, settled in the Hazlet area where they have remained for the last 44 years.  Jane was a pre-school teacher at the Christ Church Nursery School in Short Hills, New Jersey before her retirement.  Jane was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many.  She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Catherine Ebner, her daughter, Kathy Rittweger, and her sister and brother-in-law Doris and Maurice Julian.  Jane is survived by her beloved husband, Louis and her daughter, Janet Rittweger-Burns (Patrick) of Barnegat, NJ.  She is also survived by stepchildren Josephine O’Rielly (Joe) of Florida and Wayne Sodano (Catherine) of Delaware.  Jane also leaves behind her loving nephew John Julian (Kathleen) and loving niece Donna Zaleski (Stanley) along with her very special great-nieces and nephews, Diana Cantone, Dawn Malinowski, Brian Julian and Katie Oliver; along with many great-great-nieces and nephews.

In respect of Jane’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday September 21, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during the visitation hours; approximately 12:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers donations to Saint Johns Methodist Church located at 2000 Florence Ave, Hazlet, NJ 07730, in Jane’s name would be very much appreciated.
