James J. Trani, 82, of Red Bank, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. James was born on May 17, 1942, in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he grew up and met his beloved wife, Mary Ann. On November 16, 1963, James and Mary Ann were married and began their life together in Jersey City. In 1973, they settled in Hazlet, where they remained to raise their family and in 2019, moved to Red Bank. Before James’ retirement, he worked in the garment industry in production and sourcing for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and playing cards with his friends. He loved taking family vacations and going to the movies, but most of all, he adored spending time with his grandchildren. James was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Catherine (Wallich) Trani, and his beloved and devoted wife, Mary Ann Trani. James is survived by his loving children, Michael Trani of Ridgefield, Melissa Venezia and her husband, Thomas Jones, of Aberdeen, and Jennifer Shea and her husband, Kevin, of Middletown, his dear sister, Margaret Ann Trani, his cherished grandchildren, James Venezia, Emma Shea, Jack Shea, Julia Venezia, and Benjamin Shea’, and his treasured nephew, Jason Gomez.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday morning, August 2, 2024, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
