James H. Murphy

James H. Murphy, 68, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully  surrounded by his loving family at home on Monday, May 10, 2021. Jim was born on July 30, 1952 in Irvington, New Jersey and was raised in Garwood. On May 3, 1992, James and his beloved wife, Susan (Lori), were married and began their lives together in Woodbridge, New Jersey. They remained in Woodbridge for 15 years before settling in Middletown, New Jersey, where they have resided for the last 20 years. Jim followed his father into the Steamfitters Local 475 eventually moving into management and Vice President of Sylvan Industrial Piping. In his later years he owned JHM Consulting, an estimating and consulting company. Jim loved playing golf whenever possible. A perfect 4-some was playing with his 3 brothers. Bob, Bill and John. He held the bragging rights with lowest score ever, a 71 at Beaver Brook Country Club. If golf was his passion, cooking was his love. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, as well as entertaining and hosting holidays and countless gatherings. Most of all, Jim was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, James V. and Jean (Nesbitt) Murphy. James is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Susan (Lori) Murphy, and his dear siblings, Robert Murphy, William Murphy and his wife, Taunia, John Murphy and his wife, Kristie, and Kathy Murphy, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
