James H. D’Andrea, 56, of Hazlet, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 20, 2020. James was born on May 8, 1964 in Jersey City, New Jersey. After serving honorably in the United States Air Force, James joined the Union City Police Department in 1995. He and his wife, Jennifer, then settled in Hazlet to raise their family. James worked for the police department for over 25 years and rose to the rank of Captain. In his spare time, James enjoyed hunting, deep-sea fishing, and climbing lighthouses. He was also fond of collecting coins and postal stamps. James was an avid reader of political journals, annals, and blogs. Above all, James was a loving husband, father, and friend to many.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Edythe (Kasten) D’Andrea. James is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 28 years, Jennifer (Jofre) D’Andrea, his adored daughters, Giselle and Astrid D’Andrea, his brother, Richard D’Andrea and his wife, Eileen, of Nutley, and his nephew and niece, Michael and Cara. James will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
