Isabella J. DeMarco, 76, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Complete Care at Holmdel, Holmdel, New Jersey. She was born on October 27, 1948, in Jersey City, New Jersey and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. She met and married her husband, James DeMarco, in 1984. Isabella graduated from Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing and practiced as a Registered Nurse at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey before enlisting as a reservist in the Army Nurse Corp in 1993. She was activated for Operation Enduring Freedom after 9/11, where she served on active duty as a Registered Nurse at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. She was a career Army Reservist in the Nurse Corp until her retirement in 2012 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Isabella was a dedicated member and past Commander of the Mackenzie Post American Legion, Post 165, Bayonne, New Jersey. She took much pride in her military career. Isabella loved time with her family and in 2003 she moved to Hazlet to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Keyport upon moving to Hazlet.
Isabella was predeceased by her beloved parents, George and Isabella (Mullaney) Becker, her adoring husband, James DeMarco Sr. and her brother, George W. Becker Jr. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kerith Boyle and her husband Charles of Hazlet, her son James DeMarco Jr. and his wife Joan of Bayonne, New Jersey, her caring siblings, Lawrence Becker and his wife, Lisa of Hazlet, New Jersey and Judith Young and her husband Thomas of Pennsylvania, a dear sister in law, Karen Becker of Bayonne, New Jersey and her cherished grandchildren, Erynn Boyle, Samantha Boyle, Amada Boyle, Dakota DeMarco, Sierra DeMarco, Savannah DeMarco and Lilianna DeMarco as well as many nieces and nephews. Isabella was a devoted, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the Funeral Home at approximately 3:30 PM. In respect of Isabella’s wishes she will be privately cremated. Her cremains will then be entombed at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562.
