Harold Carl Ralph Dudley, 79, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 15, 2020 at Care One King James in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Harold was born on April 6, 1941 in El Paso, Texas and was raised in Connecticut and went to Valley Forge Military Academy. On April 16, 1978, Harold and his wife, Catherine, were married in Massachusetts, where they began their life together. They moved to Pennsylvania for a few years, before settling in New Jersey about 36 years ago. Harold worked in the food distribution business for companies in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania before working for Sysco Foods (formally Ritter Foods) in Jersey City, New Jersey. He held many titles over the years and retired as their Logistics Manager. He served in the National Guard and was very active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for about 23 years. Harold was a member of the Patten Point Yacht Club in Monmouth Beach, New Jersey for many years and enjoyed boating with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret (Hoglund) and Harold Mason Dudley and his sister Sonia Dudley. Harold is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 42 years, Catherine (Schager) Dudley, his daughter, Helen Jaffe and her husband, Alon, of Alexandria, Virginia, and his cherished grandchildren, Ariane, Callum, Lyra and Shevlin. His son, Harold Mark Dudley, from a previous marriage lives in Connecticut with his wife Barbara and their two sons, Cameron and Jayson. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
