Halina T. Bennett, 80, life-long resident of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. She was born Halina T. Goworek on March 26, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey. In 1946, Halina and her family moved to a farm on Lynn Blvd., in Hazlet, New Jersey, where she spent her childhood. Long time Hazlet residents may remember her dad, “Farmer Joe.” On October 13, 1963, Halina and her husband, Fred, were married and began their life together. They built their home on a section of the farm where they lived happily for many years. Halina was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many, especially in the Hazlet community. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Kopiec) Goworek, her beloved husband, Fred Bennett, and her dear siblings, Frances Gajdzis and her husband, Walter, and Stanley Pizcazotowski and his wife, Dorothy. Halina is survived by her loving son, Fred Bennett and his wife, Karen, of Morganville, and her cherished grandchildren, Han and Alex Bennett.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
