Giacomo Abrusci passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 14, 2020 in Lake County, Indiana. He was born on April 3, 1980 in Red Bank, New Jersey and grew up in Keansburg, New Jersey. He currently resided in Doral, Florida. Giacomo was the President of FGH Rebar, a rebar fabrication supplier located in New Castle, Delaware.
Giacomo smiled with both his eyes and mouth, and lit up any room with his presence. He was a lover of life. Giacomo enjoyed travel and immersed himself in the local customs, be it New York and Miami, where he also has lived, or Arizona or Tulum, Mexico. He believed in the good in people, and he was good down to his core. Giacomo built people up, to help them help themselves. He believed in hard work, thrived for it actually; Giacomo loved his business and was proud of the people he helped with a connection to finding work throughout his short journey on this earth. Giacomo was a jack of all trades, knew something about everything, really, he did. He was an amazing cook and master of the grill. Giacomo loved the NY Jets and NY Mets; he loved going to games and tailgating with family and friends. He also truly enjoyed listening to music with close friends he considered family.
Giacomo loved being Annabella’s Dad. Since the day she graced this earth, he lived for her and her happiness. His world revolved around his pride and joy and no matter what she needed, he would be that rock for her to always count on.
Just like his father, Vincenzo, of all the beautiful places he visited, Carloforte, Italy had a place in his heart. It was his paradise and brought him great serenity. He loved both the people and the beauty of the island. Also like his father, Giacomo always spoke about leaving a legacy; he wanted to have an impact on people he touched, and that he did.
Giacomo was predeceased by his father, Vincenzo Abrusci. He is survived by his loving daughter, Annabella Abrusci of North Middletown; his caring mother, Antonietta (Vigo) Abrusci; his dear siblings, Teresa Wierbicki and her husband, Roger of East Hartford, Connecticut; Luca Abrusci of Matawan, New Jersey; his sister-in-law, Rachel Abrusci; his nephews, Alessandro Wierbicki, Nicholas Wierbicki, Vincenzo Abrusci and Leo Abrusci. Giacomo is also survived by his beloved girlfriend, Gabriela Alvarez and her son Sebastian; KC Dyer, the mother of his daughter; and countless family and friends. Giacomo will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
