Gerald J Scanlon

Gerald J. Scanlon, 76, "Jerry" of Lakewood, NJ, peacefully passed away on October 11th, 2023, at Harrogat Nursing Home in Lakewood. Born in Jersey City to parents John and Ethel (Talbot) Scanlon, Gerald spent his early years in the Jersey City area. He worked as a Conductor for NJ Transit through his working years before retiring. He later moved to Hazlet in 1986, to Brick in 2012, and settled in Lakewood in 2015. Gerald was a loving father, a caring friend, and will be greatly missed.

Gerald is predeceased by his parents John and Ethel Scanlon, and his brother John Patrick Scanlon. He is survived by his children Christopher Scanlon of Hazlet, and Kathryn Scanlon of Caldwell, the mother of his children Karen Scanlon, his sister-in-law Regina Scanlon, his granddaughter Abigail Scanlon, his four nieces and nephews, and many other extended family and friends.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Gerald's wishes, he will be privately cremated.  Gerald's cremains will be privately entombed at Brigadier General Willian C.
