George J. Boggio, 82, of Manasquan, New Jersey (NJ), passed away peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. He was born on June 27, 1940, in Passaic, NJ. George met and later married the love of his life, Mary Sachau on August 24, 1963. They began their family and together they lived in Hazlet, NJ until 1969. They lived in Holmdel, NJ from 1969 until 1980, where George took pride in being the Mayor from 1974 to 1975. They then lived in Colts Neck from 1980 until 2019, and they made their final move to Manasquan, NJ in 2019.
George graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in accounting. He then served his country honorably in the United States Army for several years before becoming a Certified Public Accountant. George spent most of his career working for Fred Alger Management, NYC as their Chief Financial Officer from 1966 to 1990, at which point he retired.
As much as George enjoyed his work, he was the patriarch of his family, which he cherished more than anything in this world. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He thoroughly enjoyed capturing special moments of his family through his love of photography. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He was also a dedicated parishioner of Saint Catharine Church, Holmdel, NJ.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Ercole and Ida Boggio, and his brother, Eddie Boggio. George is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Boggio, his sons, G.John Boggio and his wife Danielle of Severna Park, MD, Michael Boggio and his wife Lisa of Wilmington, NC, James Boggio of Franklin Lakes, NJ and Rick Boggio of Tinton Falls, NJ, his caring sister-in-law, Lucille “Chili” Boggio of Clifton, NJ, a brother-in-law, John Sachau of Virginia, and his cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Nicole, Cole, Will, Jack, Cate, Bryce, Paige, Amanda and Kyle.
George will be forever loved and never forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 9:15 AM at Saint Catharine Roman Catholic Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ.
