Gale Mitchell Obituary

Gale C. Mitchell, a person of love and creativity, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on December 7, 2025, at the age of 65 at Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Institute, RWB, New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was born on July 12, 1960, in Colonia, NJ, to her late and caring parents, Norman and Mildred (Belletierre). She lived in various New Jersey towns including Glassboro, Rahway and Hazlet.  In 2013 along with her family, they settled in Marlboro, New Jersey where they remained.

Gale's family life was further enriched by her marriage to her loving husband, Anthony W. Mitchell, in 1991 and the birth of their cherished son, Anthony J. Mitchell of Marlboro, NJ.  The love for her son knew no bounds, he was truly the “light of her life”.   As husband and wife, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of Gale's delightful cooking. She was a source of joy and pride to her brother, Norman J. Houlday, who survives her in Colonia, NJ. She also leaves behind her brother in laws, John Blower and his wife Sandra and Kevin Blower, who live in England. Gale was a proud aunt to Karen, Peter, Vickie, who live in England and Philip and his wife Sarah of Doha, Qatar.

A proud graduate of Glassboro/Rowan University in 1982, Gale put her education to use in a career that allowed her to channel her creative energy and keen eye for detail. Her career as a story board artist began with Gem Studios, after several years she went to work for Ogilvy and Mather, both in NYC, Following Ogilvy and Mather’s Gale freelanced for Burrito Boards, NYC. Wherever Gale worked, her talents were recognized and celebrated. In the latter part of her career, she found joy in engaging with the community as a food taster representative at Sam's Club, a role that combined her love for food with her innate ability to connect with people.

Gale's interests were as colorful and varied as her personality. She enjoyed being an accomplished painter. Her passion for cooking was not only a hobby but a way of sharing her love with others, a sentiment echoed by her fondness of cooking shows. Music filled Gale's home and heart, as she appreciated the harmony and rhythm of all genres, finding joy and comfort in the melodies. Along with her diverse interest, Gale loved her dogs.  As a previous “Dog Mom” she had much affection for her beautiful golden retriever, Sandy. After Sandy’s passing, she rescued an adorable “sato” dog from Puerto Rico whom she called Susie. Those who knew Gale were touched by her kindness and love of life. She could light up a room with her presence and make everyone feel welcome and cherished. Gale's love for life was infectious. Her creative soul was not just evident in her art and cooking, but also in the way she crafted her life.

Gale will be remembered as a loving wife, an adoring mother, a caring sister, and a true friend. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten. As we say goodbye to Gale, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a spirit that will forever be cherished. She was, and always will be, a source of inspiration and love in the memories of her family and friends.
