Gaetano Gerard Guarino, fondly known as "Corky", 91, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. Gaetano was born on August 7, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up and met his beloved wife, Antoinette. On May 14, 1950, Gaetano and Antoinette were married and began their life together. In 1957, they relocated to Bloomfield, where they raised their family and in 1982, moved to Cedar Grove. Ultimately in 1996, they settled in Holmdel. Before retirement, Corky worked as a Painter for many years. In his younger days, he was a running back for the semi-pro football team "The Irish Ramblers" from 1947 to 1949. Most of all, Corky was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Philomena (DiChristofer) Guarino. Gaetano is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 70 years, Antoinette Guarino, his loving children, Phyllis Pascucci and her husband, Rocco, of Holmdel, Angelica Barbarossa and her husband, Frederick, of Fairfield, and Thomas Guarino II and his wife, Anna, of Holmdel, his dear sisters, Dolores Falco and Angela Guarino, and his cherished grandchildren, Andrea Lozito, Frederick Barbarossa, Toni Ann Peppinghaus, Tricia Ann Antonnini, Judith Pascucci, Rocco Anthony Pascucci, Thomas Guarino III and Alexandra Guarino, along with 10 adored great grandchildren. Gaetano will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. Due to the current COVID-19 health crisis, visitation and services will be held privately for the immediate family only. Gaetano will be interred at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
