Frederick H. Haseman Jr., 88, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Frederick was born on February 18, 1938 in Marlboro, New Jersey and grew up in Matawan, New Jersey. While living in Matawan, Frederick met the love of his life, Joyce Widman, and they were married on May 17, 1959. They started their life together in Keyport, and shortly after settled in Hazlet, where they remained to raise their family. Before his retirement, Frederick worked for AT&T, first in Newark and later in Freehold, New Jersey, as a member of their facilities team. He was also a proud United States Navy Veteran, where he honorably served our country from 1955 to 1959.
During his childhood in the 1950s, Frederick was an active Boy Scout, an experience that reflected the values of leadership and service he carried throughout his life. Later, he proudly became a troop leader for his son, Alan, sharing those same values with the next generation. While living in Hazlet, Frederick was a long-time and devoted member of Faith Community Church, where he found great joy in fellowship, faith, and serving alongside his church family. Frederick was also a passionate environmentalist who strongly supported conservation and environmental causes. In addition, as a talented saxophonist, Frederick enjoyed playing in various dance bands throughout his life, bringing joy to others through his love of music.
Frederick was predeceased by his parents, M. Helen (Wandrick) and Frederick H. Haseman, his beloved wife, Joyce (Widman) Haseman, and his sister, Carolyn Fedin. He is survived by his loving daughter Donna Ringel and Mike Watson of Warren, his dear son Alan Haseman and wife Andrea of Stafford Township, and four cherished grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew Ringel, and Joshua and Jordan Haseman.
