Frank J. Skop, fondly known as Mickey, 76, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at his residence. Frank was born on May 4, 1943 in Jersey City where he grew up. He also lived in Colonia, New Jersey before moving to Hazlet in 1978. He was a lifelong member of the North Centerville Fire Company in Hazlet, New Jersey. Frank was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam Era. He retired from General Motors in Linden, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank J. Skop Sr. and Delia (Holleran). Frank is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years, Marie (LaBruno) Skop, his loving children, Donna Marie Skop and Michele Taddeo and her husband, Frank. Frank is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Frank Taddeo and Briana Taddeo. Frank will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730 and Monday, February 17, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the funeral home. There will be a prayer service on Sunday during the visiting hours. There will be military honors and last call on Monday at North Centerville Fire Company, 372 Middle Road, Hazlet, New Jersey at 12:30 PM. In respect of Frank’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
