Florence Cerrato, 89, of Holmdel, New Jersey, formerly of Keyport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Bayshore Health Care Center in Holmdel. She was born Florence Godfrey on April 9, 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, where she grew up. In 1965, she settled in Middletown, New Jersey to raise her family and in 1978, relocated to Union Beach. In 1994, Florence moved to Bethany Manor in Keyport, where she resided for 25 years. Florence loved the community and friends she made while living at Bethany Manor and enjoyed all the years she spent there. Before her retirement, Florence was a factory worker with Prime Made Inc. for many years; a paper manufacturing company located in Matawan, New Jersey. In her spare time, Florence enjoyed doing all types of arts and crafts. She especially loved gifting them to her family and friends. Most of all, Florence was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Elsie (Whimpenny) Godfrey, and her dear sisters and brothers. Florence is survived by her loving children, Michael Cerrato and his wife, Debra, of Virginia, Theresa Woods and her husband, Kenneth, of Westwood, New Jersey, and Cynthia Cerrato and her husband, Steven Gelinas, of Newburgh, New York, along with her cherished grandchildren, Vincent Woods, and Kelli Smith and her husband, Justin, and their children, Katherine, Sarah, and Nathan, and her beloved fur grandchildren. Florence also leaves behind many treasured nieces and nephews.
In respect of Florence’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
