Eva Milko Obituary

Eva Milko, 91, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.  She was born Eva Krisanits on August 12, 1929 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where she grew up and raised her eight children with her beloved husband, Jeremiah. Eva also worked for National State Bank in their human resources department dealing with employee benefits; from where she retired.

After her husband Jeremiah’s passing, Eva married her second husband, George Milko,  and began their lives together in Barnegat.  George passed in 2013 and Eva moved in with her daughter in July of 2014, in Hazlet, New Jersey. 

In her spare time, Eva enjoyed games, puzzles, and spending time with her beloved family, who meant the world to her.  Through all of life’s ups and downs, Eva always dealt with life with an incredible sense of humor. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Adam and Julia (Eisenbeil) Krisanits, her beloved first husband, Jeremiah O’Dowd, her adoring second husband, George Milko, her six dear siblings, her son-in-law, Leo O’Donnell, and her step-son George Milko. 

Eva is survived by her loving children, Andrew O’Dowd and his wife, Rachel, of Utah, Julia O’Dowd of Bridgewater, David O’Dowd of Plainsboro, Ray O’Dowd and his wife, Loraine, of Hackettstown, Susan O’Donnell of Hazlet, Thomas O’Dowd of Toms River, Vincent O’Dowd and his wife Dawn of Franklinton, North Carolina, and Michael O’Dowd and his wife, Angie, of Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, and her treasured step-children, Susan Keat and her husband, Thomas, Carol Harazin and her husband, Joseph, and Glenn Milko and his wife, Fran.  Eva also leaves behind her dear sister-in-law, Dolores “Mary” Antoniewicz, 23 cherished grandchildren and a score of great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  Eva will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday morning, May 3, 2021 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday morning, May 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  In respect of Eva’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  Eva’s cremated remains will be laid to rest with her first husband, Jeremiah, at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, New Jersey.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Eva to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, or NJ Traumatic Brain Injury Fund www.BIANJ.org, would be greatly appreciated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
