Eugene Voigt

Eugene Voigt, 88, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  Eugene was born on February 22, 1932 in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up.  After marriage, Eugene and his beloved wife, Pauline, settled in Hazlet in 1958, where they raised their family.  Before his retirement, Eugene worked for the Newark Evening News for many years.  He was also a proud member of the National Guard.  Eugene was an avid collector of classic cars.  He loved attending cars shows and taking part in cruise nights in his spare time.

He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Ida (Grecco) Voigt, his beloved and devoted wife, Pauline (Kiziukiewicz) Voigt, and his brother-in-law, Salvatore Solomine.  Eugene is survived by his loving children, Eric Voigt of Florida, Nora Turpanjian and her husband, Paul, of Ridgefield, Paul Voigt of Hazlet, and Darci Kennedy and her husband, Peter, of South Amboy, his dear sister, Carol Solomine of East Hanover, and his cherished grandchildren, Conner Turpanjian, Dylan Turpanjian, Lance Kennedy, Spencer Kennedy, and Guinevere Kennedy.  Eugene will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Eugene's wishes, he will be privately cremated.  His cremains will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Pauline, at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown at date and time to be announced.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 100 persons allowed in the funeral home at one time.  In order to accommodate all of Eugene's family and friends, we ask that you please be brief while visiting in order to make room for additional guests to pay their respects; we thank you for your understanding during this time.
