Emelia Dzik, beloved mother, passed away on 20 May 2024.
She was born in Scranton PA in 1927 to parents Rose Krupa and Michael Mallick, married to Joseph Dzik for 65 years, and mother to two children Theodore and Suzanne.
She graduated from West Scranton High School in 1945 and was employed in the garment industry as a supervisor for the Exquisite Form Company.
Emelia was a devoted wife, loving mother and homemaker. She was a vibrant woman who put her family first and took great pride in her children, never missing an event or family gathering.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church and St Mary’s Sisterhood, where she often volunteered her time in the making of traditional Ukrainian foods.
Emelia and her husband Joseph traveled extensively throughout Europe, while always being happy to return home to America.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers (John, Andrew, Walter and Michael), sisters (Olga and Mary), and survived by son Theodore Dzik and his wife Coleen, daughter Suzanne Dzik, and several nieces and nephews, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
As per her request, Emelia will be privately cremated, to be followed by a future prayer service and interment at St Michael’s Cemetery in Taylor PA, at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 540 North Main Ave, Scranton, PA.
