Ellen M. McConnell, 62, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, June 26, 2020. She was born Ellen M. Guiry on September 12, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. In 1972 when she was 15 years old, Ellen and her family moved to Hazlet, New Jersey. Years later she met her beloved husband, Michael; they were married on October 22, 1983 and remained in Hazlet to raise their family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (King) and Michael Guiry and her sister, Regina. Ellen is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 36 years, Michael Patrick McConnell, her loving daughters, Kelly McConnell of Parlin and Megan McConnell of Old Bridge, her dear siblings, Michael Guiry and his wife, Cathy, Debbie Bilello and her husband, Bobby, Robert Guiry, Margaret Guiry, and Anne Parleman and her husband, Les. Ellen is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and Wednesday morning, July 1, 2020 from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07730. As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 50 persons allowed in the funeral home at one time.
