Elizabeth (Liz) Brown Bencivenga slipped away peacefully on July 8, 2024, succumbing to lung disease. Liz was born and raised in West New York. She was one of nine children. She spent almost the entirety of her life married to the late Anthony (Whitey) Bencivenga and they began their family in Hoboken. They also lived in San Diego, Ca, Keansburg, Nj, and finally Holmdel, NJ.
Liz is survived by her children Kim and her wife Amy, her son Danny and his wife Antonette, her daughter Stacey, her daughter Jeanine and her husband Jimmy, and her son Anthony and his wife Jamie. Liz is also survived by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stacey’s son Michael and his wife Erin and their children Mason and Hazel, Jeanine’s daughter Amanda and her husband Brendan and their son Jack, Danny’s children Daniel and his fiancé, Nina, and Massimo and his girlfriend, Grace, and finally Anthony’s children Julia, Lily, Max and Kylie. Additionally, she is survived by her four siblings: Arlene (Brown) Binetti, Linda (Brown) Otis, John Brown, and Clifford (Sonny) Brown.
Liz was predeceased by her husband, Whitey, her parents, Clifford and Lillian Brown and four of her siblings.
Liz lived her life the best she knew and lived for her children and grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her. Loved deeply by her husband, children, and grandchildren. Liz was known for being her hilarious self and loving “insults.” She was the devoted matriarch of the family and continually put others’ happiness before hers. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is reunited with Whitey, whom she missed terribly. In Liz’s final thoughts she shared her love for all of her children and grandchildren.
