Eleanor M. McBride, 84, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully the morning of January 8th 2021 at Bayshore Health Care Center, in Holmdel. She was born Eleanor Scholler to Edward and Mildred Scholler on March 10, 1936 in the Bronx, N.Y. She worked as an administrative assistant for Bell Labs prior to retirement. Eleanor raised a beautiful family with her husband Charles in the Bayshore area, where she remained the rest of her life. She was an avid parishioner of St. Benedict’s R.C. Church, and was very involved in various groups and clubs affiliated with the church. Eleanor loved her dog Sara, who unfortunately passed away last year.
Eleanor is predeceased by her parents Edward and Mildred Conte Scholler, her loving husband Charles Augustus McBride, her sisters Viola ( Vicki) Musto and Mary DiModugno and her granddaughter Amanda McBride. She is survived by her children Charles A. McBride, and his wife Christine of Hazlet, Matthew J. McBride Sr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Keith E. McBride of Hazlet, her grandchildren Matthew McBride, Danielle McBride, Jessica McBride, and Charles McBride, her great-grandchildren, Jayson, Justin, Journey, Jaxon, and Jordan, and her siblings Joanne DeLeo and her husband Peter, and Edward Scholler and his wife Lynn, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, and will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St Benedict Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Due to Covid-19 restriction the final committal service at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum is limited to immediate family members only.
As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 100 persons allowed in the funeral home at one time. Any and all members of the public who wish to attend the visitation are requited to wear a mask and socially distant when paying their respects to Eleanor's family.
