Elaine Nichols, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 5th, 2023, at her home. Elaine was born on April 30, 1945, to parents Vincent and Mildred (Janssen) Oriolo in Union City, New Jersey, where she grew up. Upon marrying the love of her life, Robert C. Nichols III, in 1967, they began their life together in Jersey City before moving to North Arlington in 1993 where they would remain through their retirement together.
Elaine was a woman of many talents, known by her family as a “Jack of all Trades.” She enjoyed gardening in her younger years, and was an advocate for all animals, not only having her own pets, but also donating to local shelters. Her support also included donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She liked watching shows like NCIS, Hawaii 5-0, and Chicago Fire, and absolutely loved anything involving Elvis. Elaine was also very proud of her bright blue Chrysler 300. Most importantly, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Elaine is predeceased by her parents Vincent and Mildred Oriolo, and her loving husband of 48 years Robert C. Nichols III. She is survived by her sons, Robert C. Nichols IV, and his wife Julie, and Jimmy Nichols, and his wife Maria, her grandchildren Matthew, Molly, Josh, Robbie, Michael, and Jimmy, and many other extended family and friends.
