Edwin "Eddie" Booth Jr. Obituary

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin G. Booth, Jr., 54, on Wednesday in Red Bank, NJ surrounded by his loving family. Ed or Eddie as he was known to most, was born in Jersey City, NJ on May 9, 1971, to Edwin G. Booth Sr. or “Pops” and Natalie Booth. Eddie was his father’s son in every way. From when Ed was young, Pops instilled in him the value of hard work and loyalty. Ed remained fiercely devoted to his family and friends and would help those he knew in any way that he could. He embodied the term “give you the shirt off of his back.”

Over twenty years ago, Ed and his father started the business which eventually became Keyport Auto Sales. He was a builder, who rehabilitated houses with his father and later turned it into another successful business with his business partner and best friend, Mark Hafner.

He loved cars - especially restoring Chevelle convertibles with his father. He loved El Caminos and specifically Novas - The first vintage car that he owned.

Eddie is predeceased by his father, Edwin G Booth, Sr.. He is survived by the love of his life, Kathy Booth, their daughter Kaitlyn Booth and her fiancé Michael Curto and his grand-fur-baby Charlie of Hazlet, and his beloved son Edwin Barran Booth of Union Beach. He is also survived by his mother, Natalie Booth of Keyport; his sister, Deana Carinha and her husband João of Keyport, along with their son João Jr. and his significant other Lyndsey Frank of Keyport; and their daughter Krisann Carinha and her husband Michael LaPointe of Keyport; his sister Tina Seelinger and her husband Kevin of Hazlet, and their daughter Nicole Merges and her husband James, and their newborn and Eddie’s first grandniece, Ava James; and their daughter Jessica Mulhern and her husband Raymond; his baby sister Danielle Del Buono and her significant other Kevin Guiney and her children Caden and Savannah of Middletown. Ed cherished each and every one of them.

Ed’s closest friends thought of him as their brother. There aren’t many, perhaps any, that can imagine a world without Eddie Booth, but we will always remember the world with him. He will be missed.

During Ed’s difficult journey and his courageous battle against pancreatic cancer the team on 3 East and Riverview Cancer Center provided not only exceptional care for Eddie but also comfort and support for his entire family.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Eddie's life, we invite you to consider making a donation to Riverview Cancer Services, so they may continue offering the same compassion and care to others in need.
