Edward Anderson Obituary

Edward R. Anderson, fondly known as “Easy Ed”, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. Ed was born on August 27, 1939, in Jesey City, New Jersey. He grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey, and also spent some time living in Weehawken. On October 10, 1965, Ed and his beloved wife, Dolores, were married and began their life together in Hazlet, where they remained to raise their family. Before his retirement, Ed was Party Chief Surveyor for IUOE Local #15D with Wohl & O’Mara Surveyors for many years. He was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks with the Keyport Matawan Lodge #2030 for over 28 years and a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran. Most of all, Easy Ed was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Gladys (Lorgan) Anderson, his son Matthew Lee, and his brother Jerry Anderson. Ed is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 59 years Dolores (Severini) Anderson, his loving children Adam Lee and his wife Angela of Union Beach, Edward Anderson and his wife Jennifer of Hazlet, and Dawn Brady and her husband Richard of Hazlet, his dear brother David Anderson and his wife Lilia, along with 18 cherished grandchildren, 16 adored great grandchildren, and many treasured nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home on Saturday during the visitation hours. In respect of Edward’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
