Edna Mae (Linguito) Wallbank

Edna Mae Wallbank, 82, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away on July 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family and friends she cherished throughout her life.

Born on February 19, 1944, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Edna was the daughter of the late Dominick and Edna (Brining) Linguito. She was raised in Jersey City and remained there after she married the love of her life, Lawrence W. Wallbank, on April 16, 1966. In 1971, Edna and Lawrence made their home in Hazlet, where they raised their children and built a life centered on family, hard work, and devotion to one another.

Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Leonard Linguito, and her sister Mary Gaudenzi. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence W. Wallbank; her daughter, Michele Wallbank; her sons, Lawrence Wallbank Jr. and Dominick Wallbank; and her beloved grandchildren, William Wallbank, Hailey Wallbank, and Joseph Wallbank. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in each of them.

Edna worked for many years at the Sample Lab at International Flavors & Fragrances in Hazlet, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic. After retiring, she continued to serve her community in meaningful ways. She volunteered for more than 15 years with the Hazlet First Aid Squad, giving her time and energy to help others in moments of need. She also belonged to the Keansburg American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and served as a Crossing Guard for Hazlet Township, where her friendly presence was a familiar and comforting part of daily life.

In her free time, Edna enjoyed camping and bowling, and she was proud to be part of a bowling league. She found joy in simple pleasures and in the company of those around her. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who was always happy, positive, and loving. Her warm smile, cheerful spirit, and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Edna lived her life with grace, strength, and devotion to her family and community. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the example she set through her service, and the positivity she brought into the lives of others. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
