Douglas Allen Larsen, Sr., 76, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Care One at King James, Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. He was born on November 5,1944 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and grew up in Milltown, New Jersey. Douglas and his wife Lorraine raised their family in Neptune before settling in Union Beach, New Jersey.
Douglas worked in the produce department for many years most recently for the Food Town of Port Monmouth, New Jersey. His three most important things in life were: family and friends, bowling, and work. He was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues over the years. Most of all, Douglas was a caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Douglas was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Martha Jean (Reinsford) Larsen, his beloved wife, Lorraine Larsen and his siblings, Dorothy Gaff, Joan Varady, Lorraine Dorn and Harold “Butch” Larsen, Jr. Douglas is survived by his loving children, Carla Ann Larsen of Neptune, New Jersey, Douglas Allen Larsen, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Union Beach, New Jersey, James Larsen and his wife, Jennifer of Delaware, and Victoria Jean Byers of Delaware, his dear sister, Karen Sorensen of Edison, New Jersey, his cherished grandchildren, David, Nicole, Issaih “Scotty”, Bryan, Stephan, Stevie, Jarrett, Jamie and Jacob, and his treasured great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Gunner, Lucas, Maya and Braylan.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, June 26th, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Douglas’ wishes, he will be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Douglas to MCK Cancer Center would be greatly appreciated.
