Dorothy Miller, 73, passed away on September 3, 2026, in Clermont, Lake County, Florida, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished throughout her life.
Dorothy was born on February 23, 1953, in Providence, Rhode Island; the daughter of Miller and Rose (Stevenson) Marks and was raised with the values of strength, loyalty, and devotion that would remain with her always. She spent most of her life in Astoria, Queens, and was a true native New Yorker in every sense. No matter where life took her, her heart remained in Astoria, the neighborhood she loved and called home in spirit. She carried with her the unmistakable energy, honesty, and resilience that so often define the people of New York, and she wore those qualities with pride.
From early in Dorothy’s life, she was a devout Christian. In 1997, she and her husband Harry, were water baptized in a beautiful ceremony that solidified her strong faith and Christian values that she carried with her throughout her life.
Dorothy was a loving and strong woman whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was fondly known by family and friends as “The Royal Bitch,” a nickname she carried for many years with humor and confidence. Beneath that memorable title was a woman who adored her family deeply and who was known to have psychic abilities that fascinated those around her. Her intuition, her strong personality, and her unmistakable way of seeing the world made her unforgettable. She had a gift for making her opinions known, but she also had a heart that was devoted to the people she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband, Harry Miller, whose memory remained close to her heart. She is survived by her loving children, Jacy Miller and her husband Steve, Jennifer Balogh and her husband Andy, and Justin Miller and his wife Ashley. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Alexandria, Gabby, Richard, Cassidy, Cody, Christian, Chelsea, and Matthew, each of whom brought her great pride and happiness.
Dorothy’s family will remember her for her fierce love, her sharp wit, and the unmistakable way she made her presence known. She was a woman of character and spirit, someone who could be both strong-willed and deeply caring, and who loved her family with unwavering devotion. She will be remembered not only for who she was, but for the love she gave so freely and the lasting mark she left on the hearts of those closest to her.
