Dorothy Buccino, 97, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Care One in Holmdel, New Jersey. She was born Dorothy Mullin on October 4, 1922 in Newark, New Jersey, where she grew up. While working at the Keansburg Boardwalk one summer, Dorothy met her beloved husband, Victor. They were married on March 27, 1942 and started their life together in Keansburg, before settling in Union Beach in 1953, where they raised their family.
Dorothy lived a very full and beautiful life during her 97 years. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed taking care of her family, especially during the holiday season. During her retirement, she spent 10 winters in Florida with her husband, Victor, which was one of her favorite places to visit. She also loved taking vacations whenever she could and enjoyed golfing in her spare time. While living in Union Beach, Dorothy was an active member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister for the church, a member of the church choir (which was a passion of hers) and a member of the Altar Rosary Society, where she was once named “Rosarian of the Year”. Most of all, Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She adored her two grandsons and her family was her life.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Victor Buccino, her parents, George and Mabel (Rosenhart) Mullin and her brothers, George and Melvin Mullin. Dorothy is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara “Bobbi” Stetter and her husband, Emil, of Long Branch, New Jersey, Nicki Buccino-Ruoti and her husband, Mark, of Jackson, New Jersey, and Toni Caden and her husband, Tom, of Union Beach, New Jersey. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Virginia Mullin and Margie Curran and her cherished grandsons, Nicolas and Connor Caden. Dorothy will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
