Dorothy Agnes Bolger, 89, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday evening, June 29, 2021. She was born Dorothy Agnes Kelly on August 26, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up and met her beloved husband, Patrick. On September 17, 1960, Dorothy and Patrick were married and began their lives together in Brooklyn. In 1979, they settled in Staten Island, New York, where they raised their family and remained to present day.
Dorothy adored her grandchildren and loved to spend as much time with them as possible. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting Atlantic City, where her favorite thing to do was play the slots. Most of all, Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Margaret (Downes) Kelly, her beloved and devoted husband, Patrick Bolger, and her dear siblings, Edward Kelly and Jean McLean. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Kelly Ann Sandin and her husband, Robert, of Union Beach, Patrick Bolger and his wife, Tina, of Manalapan, and Eileen Fishman and her husband, Edward, of Middletown, her dear sister, Margaret Banys of Middletown, and her cherished grandchildren, Robert Patrick, Emily Anne, Katelyn Marie, Sarah Elizabeth, Patrick Anthony, Bridget Florence, and Olivia Christine. Dorothy also leaves behind many treasured nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 2nd, 2021, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday, July 3rd, 2021, from 8:00 to 8:45 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday morning, July 3rd, 2021, at 10:00 AM at The Church of the Holy Child, 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10309.
