Doris Eva (Sulzmann) Ackerson

Doris Eva Ackerson, 101, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away at her home in Holmdel on Friday, March 26, 2021.  She was born Doris Eva Sulzmann on February 27, 1920 in Bayonne, New Jersey.  She was raised in Holmdel, New Jersey, where she spent most of her childhood, before returning to Bayonne.  After marriage, Doris and her husband, John, settled in Holmdel to raise their family.  Before her retirement in 1990, Doris worked as the Librarian for the Keyport Public Library for many years.  Most of all, Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and great aunt.  

She was predeceased by her husband, John B. Ackerson, and her adoring son, Robert James Ackerson (just prior to Doris' passing).  Doris is survived by her loving son, William J. Ackerson, her dear nephew, Gary J. Ackerson and his wife, Nancy, her cherished grandchildren, Thomas D. Wolfe and his wife, Jennifer, and Kevin W. Ackerson, and her adored great grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Mason, and McKenzie, along with many treasured great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.  Doris will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
