Donald G. Barbuscia, 92, of Lincroft, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. Donald was born on December 15, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up and met his beloved wife, Dolores. They were married on May 15, 1954, and started their life and family together in Brooklyn. After retirement, Donald and Dolores retired to Clearwater Beach, Florida. In 1999, they returned to the tri-state area to be closer to their family, and settled in Lincroft, New Jersey.
Before retirement, Donald worked Security for Bankers Trust Company in New York, New York, for many years. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran, having served our country during the Korean War. Donald was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Mets, Giants, and Rangers fan, and always enjoyed happy hour and a mug of iced cold beer. Most of all, Donald was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Florence (Cadigan) Barbuscia, and his beloved and devoted wife, Dolores (Montano) Barbuscia. Donald is survived by his loving children, Donna Lyons and her husband, Kevin, of Plainsboro, Frank Barbuscia of Brooklyn, and Diane Diahy and her husband, John, of Hazlet, along with his cherished grandchildren, Mallory Diahy and John Diahy Jr.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023, at 10:15 AM at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, New Jersey 07738. In respect of Donald’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
